No, you can’t date and marry people. However, if you complete quests, you'll not only earn the gratitude and respect of the townsfolk - you'll also befriend them.

Is Luma Island mainly a farming game?

No. Farming is part of Luma Island's core gameplay, available to every player regardless of their chosen profession, but it is one part of the game. Luma Island combines farming and crafting with exploration, professions, puzzles, quests and adventure.

What professions are there?

There are eight professions: Cook, Brewer, Shipwright, Treasure Hunter, Blacksmith, Fisherman, Jewelrycrafter and Archaeologist. The Shipwright profession was added in the free Pirates update. In co-op, everyone can choose their own profession and explore the island together or split up! One player can tend the farm while others venture into caves or uncover hidden treasures. Team up for adventures, go your separate ways, and come back together to share your discoveries!

What are Lumas?

Lumas are magical companions with some very useful talents. You hatch them from eggs. They help you find hidden treasures, produce valuable Luma Energy when you care for them, and have special abilities that can help you explore, gather resources, and tackle challenges around the island.

Can Luma Island be played solo?

Yes. Luma Island can be played entirely solo, or in online co-op with up to four players.

How many players can play together?

Luma Island supports 1-4 players. You can play solo or in online co-op with up to three friends, with drop-in/drop-out play.

Does Luma Island have split-screen or local co-op?

No. Multiplayer is online only: up to four players, each on their own device. Split-screen and local couch co-op are not supported.

Does Luma Island have combat?

Yes, but combat is optional in Cozy mode. Luma Island has three gameplay modes: Cozy (peaceful exploration with optional combat), Adventure (a balanced mix of action and discovery) and Hero (a tougher challenge for experienced adventurers).

Does Luma Island have stamina or inventory limits?

No. There are no stamina bars and no inventory limits, so you can explore and play at your own pace.

The Pirates update is a free major update released on June 20, 2025. It added new adventures, new Lumas, the Shipwright profession and quality-of-life improvements.
